After a week of accomplishments Mike Conn topped it off by winning the 2009 USBC Junior Gold Championships. Mike defeated Andrew Koff 230-190 in position round to make it official. He started the match with a 6 pin lead on Koff. Since they were within 20 pins of each other the winner of the match was going to take the title. Bellarmine Bowling didn't start just 5 years ago. Nearly 40 years before that, a group of guys were making great showings at tournaments and even won a Regional back in 1967 (the proof is displayed on Bellarmine's campus). The team regularly competes together in the USBC Open Championships. In order from left are Ron Kunkel, Tom Sternberg, John Chojnowski, Larry Cox, and David Buchenberger at the USBC Open Championships this year in Las Vegas, NV. They're a close knit group of guys and we are honored to carry on the program that they worked so hard for years ago. Other members of the team unable to make this trip were Jerry Hollinden and Phil "Butch" Reverman. All of the team still regularly bowl and David Buchenberger has made it out to quite a few of our Bellarmine Bowling Sweepers (held every Sunday we don't have a tournament during our season @ 4:30pm) to support the team. Thanks to all the guys and we hope you did well in Vegas! | |   | Bellarmine Domination @ KY/IN All-Stars Wednesday, July 01, 2009
