Bellarmine and Bellarmine's Bowling Team is happy to announce that Michelle "Shelly" Secours verbally committed to attending BU starting in the 2009-10 school year.  Look for an update on the recruiting page soon.

Bellarmine Striking Knights hosted the 2008 Bowling This Month/Norwegian Cruise Lines Striking Knights Classic.  The Men's Team continues to reach new heights, having two teams in the Top 10, and having a team for the first time finish in the top 5.  The team was led by Grant Turner's 13th Place and Mike Conn's 15th Place Finish.  The Ladies continued their exciting year by finishing 5th, 9th and 11th as teams and Christi Spears led 5 of the ladies in the Top 25 by making her first All-Tournament Team.  Others in the Top 25 included Stephanie Melton in 15th, Theresa Schwierman in 16th, Christina Oschman in 18th, and Katie Wadell in 23rd.  It was nice to see the former Bellarmine Bowlers out to support their old team.

The teams competed Nov 15-16 in the Raider Classic in Beavercreek, OH.  The Women's team finished 6th  led by Theresa Schwiermann's 12th place, Robyn Ballinger's 19th and Christi Spears 21st place finish.  The Men completed their third consecutive Top 10 finish led by Will Haroldson finishing 12th and Mike Conn finishing 17th.

The Women's and Men's Team competed in the Boilermaker Classic in Lafayette, IN Nov 8-9.  The women finished in 5th place in an exceptionally strong field, let my Theresa Schwiermann's 11th place finish and Amanda Gerber's 23rd Place finish.  The women set a team record shooting 1038 in Game 3.  The men had their second straight top 10 finish (as well as the silver team finishing 20th overall) and were led by Joey Cecil's third place finish and, a first for the school, making the men's All-Tournament Team.  The men's team also set a school record shooting 1155 in game two.

 The Men's and Women's Team competed at the Brunswick Southern Tournament.  The Men had their highest finish at a Tier 1, finishing 9th and led by Mike Conn's 11th place finish.   The Ladies finished 4th and were led by Christi Spears who finished 12th and Robyn Ballinger who finished 25th.

Congrats to the 2008 Kentucky HS Singles Champions Chris Hignite, Megan  Gardner, Chris Taylor, Allie Henon, David Robisch, Jennifer Grimley, and Cameron Shulak

The Team attended the Orange and Black in Beavercreek, OH.  The Ladies finished 5th overall led by Christina Oschman's 5th place finish and All-Tournament Team.  The Men finished 20th with the  B team finishing 23rd.  Joey Cecil led by  the team finishing 42nd.

The BU Striking Knights Bowling team made its season debut at the Hammer Midwest Collegiate.  The Mens Teams finished 25th and 38th lead by Ryan Sanders 36th place finish and Will Haroldson's 47th Place finish.  The Womens' Teams finished 12th led by four ladies in the top 50; Christina Oschman 16h, Tori Brown 28th, Theresa Schwiermann 30th and Christi Spears 48th.  Final results from the tournament are available here

Congratulations to two Bellarmine Female Bowlers for thier performance in the Kentucky Youth Open.  Christi Spears was a spare making machine and finished third, and Stephanie Melton lead from the game one of the tournament and maintained her lead.  It was Stephanie's second consecutive Kentucky Youth Open Championship
